Beagle Board of Directors

Board of Directors

The Beagle School Board of Directors play an active role in their children's early childhood education.  The Board is a community of parents and friends who work together to promote learning through play and socialization.

The full Board meets 6 times a year (minimum) - meetings are held at The Beagle School and generally run 2 hours. Committees meet as needed, and as determined by its members throughout the school year.

2023-24 Board Members

President of the Board of Directors

  • Presides at all meetings of the Board- 6 times a year (minimum) and Executive Committee meetings- 4 times a year (minimum)

  • 2+ hours a week for paperwork/emails/meetings

  • 3 hours (average) monthly at Committee Meetings

Vice President of the Board of Directors

  • Presides and carries out duties at meetings in the absence of the President

  • 3 hours (average) monthly at Committee Meetings

Treasurer of the Board of Directors

  • Provides financial reports at each Board meeting

  • Is a member of the Executive Committee

  • 1 hour (average) monthly for meetings with the Business manager and financial analyst

  • 1 hour (average) monthly compiling data for Board reports

Secretary of the Board of Directors

  • Responsible for the records and proceedings of all Board meetings and Executive meetings.

  • 2 hours (average) monthly for keeping/documenting meeting minutes and documents

Executive Committee

  • Consists of the Officers of the Board of Directors and two chairs of standing committees. 

  • Executive Committee meets 4 times a year (minimum)

Advertising Committee

  • Committee meets 2 times (minimum) annually

  • Members of this committee will convene for Open House advertising in the early Fall and Camp Beagle advertising in January

  • 2 hours (average) monthly for emailing advertisers and updating ads and websites

Annual Appeal Committee

  • Partial Year- 10 hours (average) over 3 months

Buildings and Grounds Committee

  • Meeting needs vary depending on current projects 

Community Outreach Committee

  • Meets at least twice in the Fall before the Day of Play

  • 10 hours (minimum) organizing events and contacting donors outside of meeting times

  • Other meeting times will vary depending on events

Financial Planning and Development Committee

  • 1 hour (average) monthly for meetings with the Business manager and financial analyst

  • 1 hour (average) monthly compiling data for Board reports

Fundraising Committee

  • 4 hours (average) monthly for emailing/contacting/organizing vendors

  • 1 meeting (average) monthly

  • Attends all fundraisers

Nominating Committee

  • Meets twice annually

Staffing and Curriculum Committee

  • Partial Year- 10 hours (average) over 3 months
