Our four year old preschool program builds on our three-year old curriculum, expanding ideas and concepts, encouraging more independence, and giving students the tools for success in pre-kindergarten skills such as name writing, pre-math skills, critical and scientific thinking, and fine motor skills. Each class follows a daily schedule, which includes free play, circle time, calendar activities, music and movement, learning centers, story time, and outdoor play.
We also use The Letter People program to teach letters and letter sounds and use this to conduct our “letter of the week” activities. This program uses books, music, and letter puppets to help teach students pre-reading concepts in a fun way.
Our four-year-olds take several off campus trips each year, including two trips to Proctors Theater, apple picking, and the Brookside Museum. Children also participate in monthly movement classes by Lili Loveday.
Classes meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, either in the morning (Discoverers: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm) l, or in the afternoon (Beyond Beagle: 12:40 – 3:40 pm). Both classes are led by Ms. Mary. Classes are held in our Regent Street location.
The maximum number of children in each class is 21 with one teacher and two assistants. Children must turn four-years-old on or before December 1.
